HaTCHathon 2016 winners

Over the weekend of 9th-11th September 2016, designers, developers, entrepreneurs, one and all, collaborated with startup mentors and subject matter experts from Johnson & Johnson Medical and Janssen-Cilag to help solve some of the toughest challenges facing health care today. Over the course of the weekend, ten teams formed, created and pitched their solutions to a panel of healthcare and technology industry experts.

The winners – Kneehab

The winning team of Adam Pryor, Afonso Firmo and Ewaldo Moritz took out the first prize with a solution designed to provide support for patients recovering from knee replacement surgery.

The runners up – JAX

The team of Astrid Jonelynas, Jonny Hall and Xander O’Dempsey too the runner up prize with “Forget Me Not”, an internet of things pill box solution helping carers know when family members have taken their medication.

Surprise honourable mention

The PollenSmart team with their modern satellite system for forecasting pollen indexes for people with respiratory illnesses received an honourable mention from the judging panel.
